The eyes on several platforms are identical to those on their Winking Face. A feminine smiley with long eyelashes and crimson lipstick that could leave a kiss mark was once part of Microsoft's design.

Face Blowing a Kiss was added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015 after being authorized for inclusion in Unicode 6.0 in 2010 under the name "Face Throwing a Kiss".
