E1.0 thinking face, Emoji

A yellow face with its thumb and index finger resting on its chin, its eyebrows wrinkled and staring skyward. designed to depict a person reflecting or lost in thought. frequently used to ridicule or doubt something or someone, as if to remark, "Hmm, I'm not sure about that." Different tones are used, such as serious, lighthearted, perplexed, doubtful, and mocking.

Can be used in conjunction with the Thought Balloon or the Light Bulb to symbolize learning, thinking, and (having) ideas. One of the rare smileys with a hand joins Hugging Face, Shushing Face, and Face With Hand Over Mouth.

2015 saw the approval of Thinking Face for inclusion in Unicode 8.0 and its addition to Emoji 1.0.
